Agroecological Practices: Advancing Resilience through Natural Farming
Abstract
Agroecological practices, as embodied in natural farming, are rapidly gaining recognition for their ability to advance resilience in agricultural systems. By leveraging ecological principles, traditional knowledge, and community engagement, these practices enhance the adaptive capacity of farms to withstand environmental, economic, and social shocks. This article examines the core principles of agroecology, their application through natural farming, and the resulting improvements in ecological, economic, and social resilience. Drawing upon empirical studies and global case examples, the article highlights how integrating biodiversity, soil health, and local knowledge creates robust, sustainable food systems capable of thriving amid climate change and market uncertainties.
